Making Mistakes

Dear Future Me,

Do you remember that time you got a ticket for turning left when you weren't supposed to?  I know, I know, it wasn't fair.  Here is the thing, you are always going to make mistakes.  The thing to remember is that God will love you no matter what.  This doesn't mean you should focus on the idea that you can do bad thing after bad thing and He will still love you.  Focus on trying your best to please God, not people.  If you fail, pull yourself up and remember that God's grace is sufficient.  If you think you will fail, then you will fail!  Keep believing that you will succeed.  Keep loving God.  Keep loving others.

Future Me, I/you/we have been reading Romans with my/yours/our small group.  Refer back to this book of the Bible when you feel any of the following:

a.) You are better than everyone else because you have mastered every benchmark that it takes to be a Christian

b.) You have so much freedom in His grace that you can sin (do things to displease God) constantly and have no consequences.

c.) You love Law & Order and want to read a biblical representation of courtroom drama

d.) You just want to dive into the Word.

Romans is talking to two groups of people.  One group was very legalistic in their ways and the other was very liberal.  Future Me, remember to find a happy medium between the two.

Keep truckin' along and remember to always trust in Him, even when you make mistakes.

Sincerely,

Jason

The Beginning

Dear Future Me,

I have been watching How I Met Your Mother for the past couple weeks and I have decided to write a blog.  My initial thought was to write to my future kids about my present experiences.  I thought it was a great idea.  Others just laughed and thought I was joking.  I wasn't joking!  One of my friends stated that my kids probably wouldn't care about my adventures.  I began thinking, "Then who would care?" After a couple hours, I realized who would LOVE to hear about all my adventures...

FUTURE ME!

I know you will love this blog, Future Me.  I will include as much as I can to remind you of how epic your life has been.  I pray that you are doing well and keep reading future posts, they will bring back many great memories!

Sincerely,

Jason
